In order to do research for a new performance Cantastoria, a drawn opera I spent six weeks in Vilnius, Lithuania. I interviewed people who had been in Malinas as children (hideouts used by Jews during WWII), visited museums/archives, and did a lot of walking as a way of absorbing the city. I was fortunate to have two opportunities to present my work-in-process: a projected-drawing performance at Kultflux, and an exhibition of drawings at the Vilnius Graphic Art Centre.
